Now that you bring this point up, I find myself having a little more empathy towards these kids. I was very much so like this too, when I was younger and not yet a writer. I only discovered the older guys when I was dead-set on writing. That being said, I like to think that if I was taking a creative writing degree, I would've immersed myself in the classics way, way, way beforehand.

About your last point, I plead guilty. I have been known to write clickbaity stories catering to all types. My hope is that after they've clicked, the content they read will be good enough for them to excuse the means by which I've employed to get them to click on my story in the first place, ha-ha.
