Prometheus

Power!

He grasped it with both hands,

Ignoring the hungry-orange licks

as it ate him alive

Who knew power could be forged

from wood and bone,

flint and stone

His harvest from the Heavens

Power made flesh,

his flickering gold-teeth crown

Prometheus brought Fire to Sapiens,

He made Kings out of Men

“Prometheus” is the first poem I ever wrote. I was inspired by the hit book, Sapiens, of which I was reading at the time.
