I get where you’re coming from; I dislike wide sweeping platitudes too, e.g all East Asians are great at Math (I’m terrible at it). But sometimes they are a necessary evil. I believed the story would’ve lost a lot of its potency if I were to dicker around, so use platitudes I did. In my defence I meant them as a compliment; but once again, I get where you’re coming from.
