I think you have a very balanced viewpoint, and I actually agree with a lot of your points. The idea that Mona was dressed in luxurious items in order to market herself better as a high-end escort has been brought up in a comment before yours, and it has certainly made me think.

Unfortunately all I can do as a writer is write as entertainingly and honestly as I can about my thoughts on the subject at the time, and when I was in my early twenties, it certainly seemed to me that Mona was blinded by the allure of fast cash. Perhaps if I can somehow get into contact with her again, I can write another story anew. A sort of Mona 2.0, perhaps. That would be a very nice tale to tell, I think.
